Bluerydge Observes Veterans’ Health Week: Championing Physical and Mental Wellbeing

As a veteran-founded cybersecurity company with a workforce that is 70% veterans, Bluerydge understands that health and resilience are mission-critical. Supporting veterans' physical and mental wellbeing is not just a one-week commitment—it’s part of our ethos, culture, and operational success.

During Veterans’ Health Week 2021, Bluerydge embraced the theme “Get Moving”, encouraging team members to prioritise fitness and wellbeing. To mark the occasion, several Bluerydge professionals took on a challenging hike to Mt Gingera, reinforcing the importance of physical endurance, teamwork, and mental resilience.

The Importance of Veterans’ Health Week

Veterans’ Health Week is an annual national initiative aimed at raising awareness about veteran health and wellbeing. It serves as a reminder that staying physically active is vital for long-term resilience, stress management, and overall performance.

Why is this important?

  • Veterans often face unique physical and mental health challenges after transitioning out of active service.

  • Physical activity is proven to enhance mental health, reduce stress, and boost overall wellbeing.

  • Staying active fosters a strong sense of teamwork, camaraderie, and community, critical elements for those accustomed to the structure of military life.

At Bluerydge, we recognise that peak operational performance is tied to strong mental and physical health, and we actively promote initiatives that reinforce both aspects of wellbeing.

Bluerydge’s Commitment to Veteran Wellbeing

Our support for veterans extends beyond Veterans’ Health Week. At Bluerydge, we embed health and fitness initiatives into our workplace culture, ensuring that our team members feel supported year-round.

Our ongoing initiatives include:

  • Encouraging physical activity – Through company-sponsored fitness challenges, team hikes, and events promoting movement.

  • Mental health support – Providing weekly check-ins, peer support networks, and open communication channels to ensure team members feel heard.

  • A dedicated health and wellbeing Slack channel – Offering a space for employees to share fitness goals, health resources, and motivational support.

  • Work-life balance reinforcement – Encouraging flexibility, regular check-ins with managers, and sustainable workload management.

For many veterans transitioning into civilian careers, the shift can feel abrupt. By fostering a structured yet supportive workplace culture, Bluerydge ensures that our team remains mission-ready while maintaining strong personal resilience.

Looking Ahead

At Bluerydge, Veterans’ Health Week is more than a campaign—it’s a year-round commitment. We will continue to champion initiatives that support the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of our team.

Whether through fitness challenges, structured wellbeing programs, or leadership-driven engagement, Bluerydge remains dedicated to honoring, supporting, and empowering veterans—not just in their careers, but in their lives.

Mission success starts with the health of our people. We’re proud to lead by example.
